Who We Are
The National Commission for Black Arts and Entertainment (NCBAE) is a national network advancing Black creative and cultural enterprise. A Picture's Worth (APW) is a Cincinnati-based nonprofit dedicated to ethical, community-centered storygathering, and a member organization of NCBAE. We are partnering to gather voices from the 2026 National Conference.
What You're Agreeing To
By submitting your story, you are granting NCBAE and A Picture's Worth permission to use your audio recording, photograph (if provided), and identifying information (name, role/affiliation) in connection with the Voices of NCBAE 2026 project.
Your story may be used in: NCBAE's website and social media channels, conference recap and impact materials, member communications, grant reports, donor and partner communications, in-person events and presentations, printed materials, and APW's storytelling work in connection with this partnership. With your consent, your story may also be shared with NCBAE-approved partners such as funders and press.
About Editing
We may lightly edit your audio for clarity — trimming pauses, removing background noise, or choosing a specific excerpt for a shorter format. We will never alter the substance or meaning of what you said. If a piece feels like a significant re-framing, we will reach out to you before publishing.
What We Will Never Do
We will never sell your story or personal information to third parties. We will never use your story in a context that misrepresents your intent or experience. We will never share your full contact information (email, phone) publicly.
Your Rights
You retain ownership of your story. You may request removal from any or all uses at any time by contacting elissa@apicturesworth.org. Removal requests are honored within 30 days, except where materials have already been printed or installed.
How We Store Your Data
Your audio recording, photo (if provided), and contact information are stored securely. Only authorized NCBAE staff and APW staff have access to your submission. We follow best practices for data protection.
Trauma-Informed Approach
APW practices trauma-informed storygathering. You are never required to share more than you are comfortable with. You may stop your recording at any time.
